The name "AFURI" comes from Mt. Oyama (commonly known as Mt. Afuri), located at the eastern end of the Tanzawa Mountains in Kanagawa Prefecture. The soup is made using pure water that springs from the foot of Mt. Afuri, hence the name "AFURI."
Mount Afuri has been loved since ancient times as the father mountain of Mount Fuji.
